Covid-19 accelerated online shopping, consumer spending: iPrice THE e-commerce industry in the six largest Southeast Asian markets is set to continue growing as it will likely reach US$172 billion in value in 2025, according to Google, Temasek, and Bain company.

The Covid-19 pandemic, of course, has accelerated this. But just how much of the region’s e-commerce industry was affected? E-commerce aggregator iPrice Group’s latest findings show the shifting trends of the region’s industry, the company said in a statement.

Holiday 2020 spending online surges 32% to $188.2 billion: Adobe

U.S. online purchases over the 2020 holidays grew 32.2% from 2019, totaling a record $188.2 billion as shoppers stayed home and shopped on the web during the pandemic, according to Adobe Analytics.

E-commerce sales during November, which included Black Friday and Cyber Monday, reached $100 billion for the first time, said Adobe, which tracks the web transactions of 80 of the top 100 internet retailers in the U.S.

Fewer holiday shoppers bought gifts during the five-day period from Black Friday to Cyber Monday, and those who did spent less, as discounts started early this year, according to the National Retail Federation.

The retail trade group said about 186.4 million shoppers bought holiday gifts, food or decorations from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday. That’s less than the 189.6 million shoppers who bought items during that period last year, but higher than the 165.8 million
