New life promised for Lake Mall’s former Younkers site

MUSKEGON, MI – The former Younkers department store, which has stood empty at the Lakes Mall since 2018, has been sold.

Jonathan “Jon” Bryant of Underground Building Maintenance in Jenison purchased the building last week for an undisclosed sum, he told MLive. He said he intends to gut and renovate it before leasing the space to a retailer.
