Eight injured in shooting at Milwaukee-area mall; suspect at large

A man opened fire outside a mall in suburban Milwaukee on Friday, injuring eight people, including a teenager, police said.

Conditions of the victims were not released but Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, police Chief Barry Weber said there were no fatalities.

The shooter, a man thought to be about 30, was not in custody, and authorities were working to determine his identity, the chief said.

Gunfire was reported about 2:50 p.m. at the Mayfair mall, outside the northwest entrance to Macy’s, Weber said at a news conference Friday night.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A shooting Saturday morning inside Jefferson Mall left one man injured and shoppers scrambling for safety.

Witnesses described hearing gunshots around 11 a.m. and said the shooting escalated from a fight over Jordan brand shoes.

Tammy Moseley was at the mall with her 2-year-old granddaughter when she heard an argument followed by gunshots near a shoe store. Moseley grabbed her granddaughter and rushed to nearby stores to find cover.

Chula Vista firefighters injured in shoe store fire

Four firefighters are recovering from injuries they suffered battling a three-alarm fire at a Chula Vista retail store.

The blaze was reported at about 5:40 p.m. Monday at Action Footwear, 655 H Street, just east of Interstate 5, according to the Chula Vista Fire Department.

Investigators believe the fire started on the second floor and was driven by high winds. A second alarm was called shortly after crews arrived and was upgraded to a third alarm when the roof collapsed.

Four employees who were inside the building when the fire started reportedly escaped unharmed.

One person injured during shooting at Valley View Mall

NEW: From Roanoke Police Department: On December 26, 2020 at about 6:37 PM, Roanoke Police were dispatched to 4802 Valley View Boulevard regarding a report of shots fired inside the mall on the upper level.

Upon arrival, officers located an individual who had been struck by
gunfire. Roanoke Fire-EMS transported the individual to Carilion Roanoke
Memorial Hospital for treatment. Additional responding officers along with members from the Roanoke County Police Department and the Virginia State Police responded to assist in safely clearing the patrons from the mall.
