Clothes shop straddling Dutch-Belgian border half-closed by coronavirus

A clothes shop straddling the Dutch-Belgian border found itself half-open and half-shut as the two countries pursued different policies to contain the coronavirus pandemic

The Zeeman store in Dutch Baarle-Nassau, where the border splits streets in half, divided its shop with tape and kept the Dutch side open after Belgium closed all non-essential shops to fight the spread of the virus. 

Dutch shoppers were unable to buy underwear, for example, because the pants and knickers were kept in Baarle-Hertog, on the Belgian side of the border.

ROCKAWAY TOWNSHIP — After being shuttered for about four months due to the novel coronavirus, Rockaway Townsquare reopened on Monday morning to masked shoppers. 

The mall, just off Route 80, reopened its doors at 11, and its stores may allow only 50% of the previous maximum capacity.

Westfields to close all its stores until March 29

All 32 Westfield malls across the United States, including World Trade Center, Garden State Plaza and Century City locations, will be shut down for all but “essential” retail outlets due to the coronavirus pandemic.
